The Management and Human Resources Department at the Wisconsin School of Business prepares students interested in developing careers in leadership and management, including starting and growing firms and managing any firm’s most crucial asset: employees.

The department offers opportunities for students to major at the BBA, MBA, and Ph.D. levels. BBA students may major in entrepreneurship, human resources, or management. MBA students may major in arts administration or strategic human resources. Ph.D. students may major in entrepreneurship, human resources, organizational behavior, or strategy/organization theory.

The department also offers certificates. MBA students and other graduate students may earn a certificate in either entrepreneurship or strategic innovation. Undergraduate students outside of the business school may earn a certificate in entrepreneurship.

Departmental faculty achievements are duly recognized by the Academy of Management through leadership roles and research awards. Their areas of expertise and research include employee and executive compensation, entrepreneurship, human resources, motivation, workforce diversity, organizational learning and innovation, and strategy.

The Bolz Center for Arts Administration and the Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship are administered by the Management and Human Resources Department.
