The department works hard to continuously improve the insurance field by contributing cutting-edge and relevant research, building bridges with industry, and instilling success in our students. We are a nationally recognized Center of Actuarial Excellence and have received grants to support a variety of industry-related research topics and the introduction of our TEL Initiative.
The department faculty’s area of research includes: actuarial science, risk management, insurance, microinsurance, insurance regulation, behavioral finance, decision making, regression and business forecasting, health care fiscal management, health services management, economic development, economic theory, statistics, and more.
