In addition to the School of Business’s Spring Career and Internship Fair at the Kohl Center, the UW Real Estate Club looks forward to hosting its own career fair Monday, February 16th at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Union South. Open to all UW-Madison graduate and undergraduate students, the real estate club is one of the largest and most active student-run organizations on campus.
The 15th annual event brings together representatives from regional and national companies looking to connect with Wisconsin’s talented pool of real estate students. Each year, the fair attracts over 200 students and a variety of employers from a range of real estate sectors for a concentrated evening of networking. The night kicks off with pre-fair networking dinner from 5:00-6:00pm in Varsity Hall II, followed by the career fair expo 6:00-8:00 p.m., and concludes with an after-fair reception in the Sett.
Graaskamp Center Associate Director Sharon McCabe expects a busy hiring season for prospective employers, and believes the event is a great opportunity for students to make industry contacts and practice their elevator pitches. McCabe also notes that Career Advisor Chris McIntyre will visit to the Club meeting on Feb 12 to talk briefly about how to prepare for a career fair.
This year the Club will welcome over thirty companies to campus, including: Allstate Insurance Company, Altus Group, BMO Harris Bank, The Boldt Company, CCRE, Chicago Apartment Finders, Colliers International, Compass Properties, DBRS, Inc., Dominium Inc., Equity Office, Exeter Property Group, EY (Ernst & Young, LLP), Freddie Mac, General Growth Properties, GreatStreet Realty Partners, LLC, Green Courte Partners, LLC, Greystar, Hammes Company Sports Development, Inc., HFF LLP, Integra Realty Resources, JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle), KPMG LLP, Marcus & Millichap, MLG Capital, NorthMarq Capital, Paine/Wetzel Associates, Inc., Principal Financial Group, Prologis, Ridge Development Company, Ryan Companies US, Inc., SCGroup Real Estate, Spirit Realty Capital, Inc., and Wells Fargo.
