Four undergraduate students in the Capital Management Club (CMC) competed at the end of October in a stock pitch competition at the Engage Undergraduate Investment Conference. The conference and competition are hosted by the Michigan Interactive Investments at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
The team of students reached the finals of the competition along with the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Florida (final winner). The CMC team included Wendy Lee (senior and MS ASAP student), Phil Gronstedt (senior), Michael Orke (junior and AEMR student) and Nick Okun (sophomore).
Students were tasked with pitching an equity either long or short in front of a panel of professional investors. Pitches were evaluated on the quality of the idea, analysis, and overall presentation. The CMC team pitched Albermarle as a long.
