January 10, 2018, marks the second round application deadline for the Wisconsin MBA Class of 2020. This is also the priority merit aid deadline, meaning that candidates for whom merit-based financial aid is a key consideration should apply. Here are a few things you should know about the priority merit-aid deadline.
- The Admissions Team reviews a high volume of applications for this round. For many business schools, their merit aid priority deadline ushers in the highest volume of applications during an admissions cycle. The Wisconsin MBA Program is no different. In fact, our Director of Admissions reads every single application. Please be patient as we review applications in a thoughtful and comprehensive way.
- There is a limited amount of merit-based aid. The Wisconsin MBA Program is known for being generous with its merit aid; however, there is a finite amount of it to go around. This is why there is a priority deadline of January 10, 2018. Round 3 and Round 4 candidates will still be considered for merit-based aid.
- Your whole application is considered. The admissions team looks at all application materials when making a decision on admission and merit aid; there is not one aspect that is more important than the others. Work experience, standardized test scores, academic record, recommendations, interviews, and essays all play a role in the decision making process.
- Plan your visit to campus. If you plan to apply for the January deadline, I highly encourage you to schedule a visit to campus. This is an excellent opportunity to meet current students, admissions committee members, staff, and program directors in your specialization of interest. Having face-to-face meetings with these individuals provides an opportunity for you to learn more about the Wisconsin MBA Program and for the decision-makers to learn more about you and your goals. Campus visits for the fall semester have concluded, but spring visit dates are available on our website.
All in all, take the time you need to make sure your application is as competitive as possible. The admissions team is here as a resource should you have questions about the application process. Schedule a consultation appointment with a member of the admissions team today.
