Sherry Wagner-Henry, director of the Bolz Center for Arts Administration
at the Wisconsin School of Business, has been appointed to the executive committee of the Alliance for Arts in Research Universities
Wagner-Henry is widely recognized as a national leader in arts research. As director of the Bolz Center, she is responsible for overall strategy, including recruitment of students as emerging leaders, teaching through applied professional practice, job placement, and the development of enhanced educational experiences. She also launched the campuswide Arts Business Initiative
, a program that connects artists and creative majors to business students and curriculum, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and creative inquiry.
"Sherry's national profile and ongoing active involvement and contributions to a2ru have distinguished her as a leading voice in the a2ru network,” says Laurie Baefsky, executive director of a2ru.
Wagner-Henry’s two-year renewable appointment with a2ru will begin with the 2018-2019 academic year. Among her first priorities will be joining an executive leadership convene hosted by the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., on the theme of creative capital.
The Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) advances the full range of arts-integrative research, curricula, programs, and creative practice to acknowledge, articulate, and expand the vital role of higher education in our global society.
