The Business Forum, a Madison-based professional leadership organization, recently awarded Wisconsin MBA alumnae LaShell Lentz with their ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award, recognizing her as an emerging business leader and role model for youth.

Lentz, a 2010 Wisconsin Evening MBA graduate, works for BMO Harris as a senior financial advisor. According to the Business Forum, Lentz is always willing to take the initiative to help clients with their financial issues, including teaching financial classes and working with retirees.

Beyond her profession, Lentz spends much of her free time working with the Girls Scouts of Wisconsin and Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2012, she raised $40,000 for the Girls Scouts of Wisconsin—Badgerland Council with her all-female 5K run called One Tough Cookie.

Lentz credits the Wisconsin School of Business for helping her achieve many of her goals as an emerging leader and philanthropist.

“Without the Wisconsin Evening MBA leadership training, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish so much professionally and personally,” she said.
