Advertising Age recently named Wisconsin School of Business Alumna Viveca Chan as one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Advertising,” along with other icons including Coco Chanel, Oprah Winfrey, Anna Wintour, and Sheryl Sandberg.

Chan, the chairman and CEO of Chinese ad agency WE Marketing Group, is also a graduate of the Wisconsin School of Business. Chan started WE Marketing in 2005, and the company has grown to four offices in mainland China and one in Hong Kong, with a total of 200 employees. Clients include Estee Lauder, Mercedes-Benz and Lufthansa, along with numerous Chinese brands.

Chan credits her education at the Wisconsin School of Business and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with helping her achieve success in the advertising world.

“I found the stories from other women very inspiring,” she said. “I will never forget how Wisconsin trained me well to become a ‘groundbreaker’ in the industry.”
