Maria Heide

Senior Lecturer - Marketing

Maria Papas Heide is a Sr. Lecturer in the Marketing Department at the Wisconsin School of Business, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Business from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).

Before joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison Marketing Department, she was a faculty member at the University of Akron. Her teaching experience has included marketing management, marketing research, and retail management.

Prior to entering academia, she worked as a Sr. Market Research Analyst for Goodyear Tire and Rubber.

She regularly attends presentations and reads extensively to stay abreast of the retail industry in order to provide her students with 1) information on the different types of retailers, the retailing environment, and the functions retailers perform, 2) an overview of various issues in retailing strategy, merchandise management, and store management, and 3) a foundation for positions with retailers and companies that interact with retailers.
