  • All Academic Advising and Career Advising appointments are virtual for Fall 2020.
  • Appointments are available at a variety of hours to accommodate students in different time zones.
  • 15-minute just-in-time virtual appointments are available with our peer advisors for students with quick questions. Students can schedule an appointment up to one hour before the peer advisor is available on Starfish.

  • All Pre-Business workshops and preparation events are virtual and a Canvas page will be used to post new information.

Study Abroad

  • Virtual advising appointments are available with peer advisors and professional staff as you plan for study abroad. All appointments are scheduled through Starfish.
  • Appointments are available at a variety of hours to accommodate students in different time zones.
  • Prospective study abroad students can view the Study Abroad 101 video series and schedule a “Just In Time” 10-15 minute appointment with a peer advisor.
  • Decisions about Spring 2021 semester study abroad programs will be made no later than October 15. Review the UW–Madison Study Abroad COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions for more information. Spring 2021 participants can schedule an appointment with the advisors listed in their MyStudyAbroad account.

Employer Recruiting & Career Fairs

  • All career fairs and career networking events will be virtual. Registration and the fairs themselves are managed through the Handshake platform.
  • Career fairs are being planned by industry and there will be multiple engagements throughout the year. View current career fairs and register now.
  • Look for workshops on how to prepare for virtual engagements.
  • WSB is creating trainings for employer recruiters to help them be great virtual recruiters and interviewers.

Student Life & Tutoring

  • The Personal and Professional Foundations of Business (PPFB) course is offered in a hybrid model to build community among new students.
  • Accenture Leadership Center (ALC) and Business Badger Badge events are offered online and in-person, with socially distanced small groups (10–15).
  • All case study competitions are virtual. At some point we may explore how to have groups work in-person with virtual judging.
  • The virtual Student Organization Fair will take place on Tuesday, September 8th at various times throughout the day.
  • Business Connect Learning Community will have residents (80 assigned) living in it, and virtual events and programs will be available to them.
  • The Undergraduate Business Council (UBC) and other student organization leadership will continue to meet virtually.
  • Student organizations may receive some access to their offices in the ALC provided it isn’t in constant use as classroom space.
  • The Business Learning Center (BLC) will offer virtual tutoring and 1-on-1 appointments.

Admissions Events

  • Virtual visit days will continue for families and visitors.
  • All admissions events and other resources for families are located on the Admissions page.

The Admissions office offers events for high school students, transfer students, and current UW-Madison pre-business students.


  • All Business Emerging Leaders (BEL) College Scholar programming will take place virtually. A calendar including all activities will be distributed at the start of the fall semester.
  • GB365: Ways of Knowing Business will be offered online in a synchronous environment on Tuesdays from 8-9am.
  • Pre-College Staff is available to meet virtually with scholars. Email to schedule an appointment.
