In just a few more weeks, the newest cohort of students will graduate to alumni status. The Weinert Center has a long history of teaching entrepreneurship to students from across the University and it is always exciting to have alumni mention how their time at the UW has played a major role in their career path. The UW experience can be a class, a speaker, an instructor, a mentor or an event. All of these are part of the UW entrepreneurial experience and help students succeed as founders or employees in both big and small firms. Many of these experiences are only made possible by the donation of time and/or financial resources from our dedicated alumni and friends of the center. Thank you! It would not be possible without you!
This quarter’s newsletter talks about UW experiences ranging from visiting startups to classes to entrepreneurial speakers, all of which serve to both educate and inspire our current students (and faculty). The newsletter also includes an alumni profile of Stephen Ranjan whose career path since graduation is a great example of intrapreneurship/corporate entrepreneurship with roles at J & J and Merck. He talks about the role the UW alumni network played in helping him in that journey. On that topic we would like to invite you to join our Weinert Center LinkedIn group at or our Facebook page. These groups provides a great way for current UW students, alumni and friends of the Center to connect around the topic of entrepreneurship.
