The Future of Bank Real Estate Lending:
How New Regulation May Change the Game

Regulation continues to be a top concern among lenders and borrowers alike and could fundamentally reshape commercial real estate.  With the implementation of Dodd Frank and Basel III right around the corner, regulators aim to insure banking stability and transparency.  However, borrowers are increasingly concerned that new regulation will increase both borrowing costs and equity requirements.

How will the new regulatory framework impact the value of commercial real estate?  Will they stifle or support lending activity?   What are the long-term implications of the Basel III on capital costs, risk mitigation and market liquidity? Is Dodd Frank’s, “risk retention role” adding to the volatility and instability of the CMBS market?  Bill Lashbrook, Senior Vice President of Real Estate Banking at PNC, will explore how you can strategically navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
