Global Real Estate Markets 2012

November 30, 2012 | New York Stock Exchange, New York, NY

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has a long and honored tradition of excellence in education and research in the discipline of real estate and urban land economics. Today, the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate's main goal is to serve as a link between faculty and students, alumni, the real estate professional community, governmental agencies, and the general public. Through events like this conference, the Graaskamp Center is setting the standard for real estate in the new millennium. We are proud to partner again with Toll Brothers in hosting the 2012 Global Real Estate Markets Conference.

Conference Overview

While a robust recovery from the global financial crisis remains elusive and the world is undergoing changes in political leadership at the highest levels, real estate investors and developers are finding new opportunities amid the global uncertainty. Learn how the leaders and visionaries in the real estate industry view the changing landscape and plan to take advantage of these opportunities.

You will hear from a range of leading investors, developers, and strategists exploring emerging trends in investment and capital flows across the globe, new opportunities for investments in the United States and abroad, and the changing dynamics of global cities. Bloomberg News Anchor Carol Massar will lead the keynote interview and provide media coverage of the event.

THE 2012 CONFERENCE WILL FEATURE THE FOLLOWING PANEL DISCUSSIONS:

  • Leading Markets: A Tour of the Globe
As regions of the world adjust to new political leadership, shifting demographics, divergent growth patterns, and new policy initiatives, we tour the globe with leaders in the real estate industry to survey the landscape and identify areas of growth, opportunity, and challenge.

  • Leading Investment Opportunities
As the global landscape changes, new opportunities emerge to take advantage of shifting global capital flows in the United States, Europe, and elsewhere across the world.

  • Global Cities
Look into the future and explore the implications that the global trends toward urbanization, sustainability, and the information economy will have on the interaction between private investment, infrastructure development, and public policy as global cities reinvent themselves to compete for dominance in the 21st century.

  • The 2011 conference attracted more than 200 real estate leaders from around the world with keynote addresses by Olivier Piani, executive committee chairman and chief executive officer of Allianz Real Estate, and Richard Cantor, chief risk officer of Moody’s Corporation.
