About the Golf Courses

You have the opportunity to golf on two world-class golf courses. Please note that both courses are strictly walking courses and the terrain is quite hilly.

Whistling Straits - Straits Course: The host of the 2004 PGA Championship, 2007 U.S. Senior Open, 2010 PGA Championship, 2015 PGA Championship, and 2020 Ryder Cup, Whistling Straits is an extraordinary combination of legendary design by Pete Dye and visionary inspiration of Herbert V. Kohler, Jr. Beginning with a 560-acre parcel of flat land, Dye sculpted a bit of Ireland and a touch of Scotland out of the Wisconsin coastline. If you ask Pete Dye, he’ll tell you that building Whistling Straits was a "once-in-a-lifetime thing"—an impressive claim for one considered the foremost golf course designer of our time.

Blackwolf Run - River Course: River Course is one of the most challenging and scenic destinations in North America. GOLF Magazine says this course "must be considered the nation's finest public-access course of modern times." It was ranked #15 in Golf Digest 's ranking of America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses for 2011/2012.  Melded into a river basin formed by the flows of glacial runoff, Blackwolf Run opened for play in June of 1988 and was named that year’s “Best New Public Course” in the country by Golf Digest. Both the River and Meadow Valleys are regularly ranked in “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” by Golf Digest and the “Top 100 You Can Play” by GOLF Magazine.

Transportation

A shuttle bus will be available to transport board members and guests to and from the American Club to the golf courses. The American Club also has a shuttle that picks up passengers on the hour at the American Club for arrival at Whistling Straits on the half hour. You can also drive to the Whistling Straits course.

Accommodations

Lockers, showers, and changing rooms are available at the golf courses.

Gratuity for Caddies

The fee for the caddies is included in your golf outing fee; however, gratuity is not included. The typical gratuity is $35.
