L OteroLuis Otero is a proud alumna of the Center for Brand and Product Management, Class of 2011. Originally from Puerto Rico, he made his way to UW-Madison where he fell in love (literally) with the people, school, and community. Luis met his wife and fellow Badger, Trisha Fernandez, while they were both in graduate school. Having spent the past few years in Minnesota and California, they recently returned home to Madison and are eager to reconnect with the MBA community.

Luis fondly recalls his time here at Wisconsin as being full of friendship and community. During an admitted student event and campus visit, Luis was struck by the students’ kindness and willingness to help. The unique specialization model at Wisconsin was a huge draw for Luis and set the program apart from the rest. Being a huge sports fan however, the nationally recognized athletics program was icing on the cake. Whenever he was not studying Data to Decisions or refining his marketing skills, he could be found in the student section, passionately supporting Bucky. Luis graduated with a strong community of lifelong friends, a loving wife, and the business and leadership skills to propel him forward in his career.

Since graduating in 2011, Luis has found great success in healthcare marketing management and leadership roles. He is passionate about building and marketing products that truly change people’s lives. After graduating, Luis went to work for Boston Scientific as a Global Product Manager. This role allowed him to work internationally and really hone the skills he had acquired during his MBA experience. Building upon his early successes, Luis eventually took a leadership role as Group Marketing Manager for Danaher in California before coming full circle back to Madison. Luis recently moved back to lead the Commercial Analytics team at Exact Sciences. He and his wife are happy to be back in Madison and are eager to reconnect with the campus, the Brand Center, and the WSB community. A lifelong Badger fan, Luis is once again a season ticket holder for Football, Basketball, and Volleyball so keep an eye out for him at the next home game.
