Alumni Spotlight: Kristin Murray Bohan

By Kristin Murray Bohan
At just 21 years old and straight out of undergrad, I was not the typical graduate student admitted to the University of Wisconsin School of Business. But my exposure to brand management also started at a much earlier age than it does for most (age 11), beginning as a Creative Consumers® kid for the ideation company Ideas to Go. After working with Fortune 500 clients for over 10 years, I sought out the focused Center for Brand & Product Management to officially kickstart my career and a lifetime of Badger fandom.
The Advisory Board's commitment to recruit talent from the Center provided access to engage with and interview with some of the top CPG companies. Armed with a broad foundation of knowledge and an internship at Fisher-Price, I landed a full-time job at Procter & Gamble where I excelled in traditional brand management roles in pet care (Iams) and beauty (Nice 'n Easy) and shopper marketing (Pantene, Olay, COVERGIRL, Gillette, Always, Tampax, Vicks and more) and eCommerce (brands like Tide, Pampers, Bounty, Charmin to name a few) assignments on the Target retail account.
As a Minnesota native and ambassador, my heart (and tight-knit family) drew me back to the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" and I moved to Land O'Lakes, Inc., one of America's premier agribusiness and food companies that truly embodies farm to fork. I am currently working in their Purina Animal Nutrition division, leading the horse feed segment and fulfilling the dream of many little girls to work with "ponies." An added plus is the checkerboard red also nicely matches my alumni roots.
