Saturday, April 25th marked the 34th Annual Crazylegs Classic. The race has become a Wisconsin tradition, with over 300,000 runners crossing the finish line in the event’s history.
This year’s race came on a gloomy, 40-degree spring morning, but that did nothing to stop thousands of students, alumni, locals, and the Center for Brand and Product Management from getting their Crazylegs on.
The 8K (5 mile) route took runners from Capitol Square to Camp Randall Stadium, with a notable stretch up the infamous Observatory Hill. With a finish line in the heart of Camp Randall, finishers were instantly greeted by Bucky, the UW Band, and a stadium full of energetic fans awaiting the 2015 UW Spring Game. Free beer and ice cream were the finishing touches on such a classic Wisconsin event.
14 Brand students joined the flock of runners this year, sporting a Brand Badger t-shirt. The shirt featured a custom Bucky, hand-drawn by Jessica Lew (CBPM Class of 2015).
Despite the cool temperatures and threat of rain, it is safe to say that these Brand Badgers had a great time. Leave it to Madison to pull together such a fun race combining the town’s love of fitness, football and beer. Time to start training for Crazylegs 2016!
