We’re incredibly proud and thankful to all of our alumni who enhance the reputation of the CBPM by creating value for their brands and organizations. Katie Anderson caught up with a few of our notable alumni and is happy to share the following:
Tom joined Google in December 2015 as the Sales Development Manager and Team Leader for the Branded Apparel and Durables industry. Tom leads a team that provides Google-caliber insights, research and digital marketing solutions to clients such as LVMH, Chanel, Nike and The North Face.
In 2011, Tom graduated from the Center for Brand and Product Management and joined The Procter & Gamble Company. He spent his career on the Olay skin care brand where he made significant contributions to the organization and the business. He was recognized in North America Beauty Care with a coaching award in 2014. During the summer of 2015, Tom launched the campaign “Results without the Procedure” that delivered record-breaking results for Olay Regenerist and a 29% lift in Micro-sculpting Cream sales.
Have you gone to a Badger football game lately? You might have run into Tom who recently completed a personal challenge to see a Badger football game at all 14 Big Ten stadiums.
Carrie has spent the full decade since her 2005 MBA graduation at Procter & Gamble. Within the Fortune 500 company, Carrie has served in a broad range of brand leadership roles, varying from regional going business and shopper marketing leadership roles to global eCommerce to new business creation assignments. Carrie is currently in her third year as the P&G Professional Brand Manager for the Americas, where she leads the multifunctional business team including both the current business and the innovation pipeline, and directly manages the brand organization. The Professional division has nearly doubled in revenue over the past decade and leads the company in total shareholder return through serving the needs of businesses and consumers away from home.
Carrie’s proudest business achievements are the ones that were the most difficult; successfully leading the shopper marketing for the Herbal Essences brand re-launch against multiple competitive threats, stabilizing the Olay base business, and developing white space business models for the company in un-charted areas for P&G. As a result, Carrie encourages everyone to “say yes” to big challenges to continue growing both personally and professionally.
Carrie and her husband Sanyog have two sons Valmik (age 7) and Kaval (age 4). They live in Cincinnati and enjoy being active in the school and downtown community.
After graduating from the Center for Brand and Product Management in 2009, Terry joined S.C. Johnson in Racine, WI, as an assistant brand manager. In the 6+ years since he has been at SCJ, he has worked on a number of category-leading brands, including Pledge®, Glade®, Ziploc®, and Windex® -- each with increasing levels of responsibility. In his current role as U.S. Marketing Commercialization Manager for Windex®, Pledge®, and Kiwi®, Terry leads nearly half of SCJ’s U.S. Home Cleaning business. His leadership on the new Windex® marketing campaign, “Don’t Stand for Dirty”, has been recognized for courageous risk-taking and speed of action. In addition to his business leadership, Terry serves as coach and mentor to many: he was honored as SCJ’s “Coach of the Year” in 2014, and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Youth Theatre and volunteers as a mentor to Marquette Business students.
Outside of work, Terry enjoys spending time with his sons, Adam and William; running; and playing golf.
