Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2017! Every year it comes as such a shock how fast the two years of our students’ MBA experience passes. This year was no exception. Our academic year and especially this spring semester were full of great learning experiences we are excited to share with you.
Our new Consumer Insights Consulting Practicum class was introduced as a capstone experiential learning experience for our A.C. Nielsen Center students. Students work in pairs on a live marketing research project for a sponsoring company. We were fortunate to have fantastic companies partner with us for this inaugural year: Adobe, America Family Insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kraft Heinz, Microsoft, Orbitz, and PepsiCo. A big thank you to those companies as they provided an excellent opportunity for our students to bring their whole MBA learnings together and functionally do the job they have studied and strived for the past two years.
Our biennial Summit is always a highlight of bringing our alumni and industry partners to campus. This year we focused on how our industry is changing and learning more about the tools, methodologies and personal skills needed for our students, alumni and friends to continue to be leaders in our industry. We had over 50 alumni and an amazing line up of speakers and content. We hope even more can join us next time. Learn more about the students’ learnings from the Summit here.
We had a unique cultural and consumer immersion experience for our students as we did an International Learning class to Cuba over spring break. The goal was for our students to experience a culture that is not consumer driven and the implications for marketing and business overall. It was an incredible learning experience and you can learn more about the students’ experience here.
Students: All 14 of our first year students are headed off to fantastic internships at these companies: AbbVie, Adobe, Boston Scientific, Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group, Eli Lilly, Genentech, General Mills, Ocean Spray, PepsiCo, SC Johnson, and United Healthcare. Our graduating class also has a list of impressive hiring firms: Adobe, American Airlines, Bank of America, Eli Lilly, General Mills, Hollister, PepsiCo and SC Johnson. There are still some bright students available to hire. Please contact the Center or the students directly if you have a position that may be a fit for them.
