Josh TorresBrand and Product Management

Josh Torres graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Management Science and a minor in Philosophy.  After graduation, Josh pursued his interest in law by gaining experience as a legal assistant at a small law office in San Diego and, later, at a law office in Sacramento.  In 2006, Josh left his home state of California for Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he enrolled in the law school at Marquette University.  Upon graduating from law school in 2009, Josh accepted an associate attorney position with the banking and financial institutions practice group at Godfrey & Kahn, S.C.  While at G&K, Josh earned the trust of his superiors and clients by leveraging his strong critical thinking, drafting and communication skills to provide exceptional work product and service.  As Josh’s legal career progressed, so too did the complexity of the projects with which he was entrusted.  Josh quickly graduated from advising small financial institutions through plain-vanilla M&A transactions to leading teams tasked with executing intricate M&A transactions, requiring multiple regulator, shareholder and creditor approvals.  In addition, Josh developed into the foremost authority at G&K on sweepstakes and promotions law, counseling a number of private and public company clients on their local, regional and national sweepstakes and promotional campaigns.

Always inspired to grow professionally, Josh participated in the Future Milwaukee Community Leadership Program, a 9-month leadership program offered through Marquette University.  In an effort to enhance his cross-functional team leadership skills, Josh seized numerous opportunities during the program to motivate and delegate tasks to his group members, successfully guiding his group through the planning, fundraising and execution phases of a community improvement project for a local Milwaukee neighborhood.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Josh’s passions include cooking dinner with his wife, walking his dog, challenging himself to run farther and faster, and attempting home improvement projects.  Josh is eager to begin his MBA journey at the Wisconsin School of Business in the Center for Brand and Product Management, where he will be afforded countless opportunities to explore his passion for creative and strategic thinking.
