Biography
Vikki DohertyArts Administration

Vikki Doherty graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2016, with a Bachelor of Arts in History and minors in Museum Studies and Spanish. While completing her undergraduate degree, Vikki undertook several internships and employment opportunities in cultural institutions, working on campus at the American Heritage Center Archival Repository, the Toppan Rare Books Library, and the University of Wyoming Art Museum. She also completed an internship at one of the Smithsonian Institution museums in Washington, D.C. and an internship abroad at an archaeological museum in Alicante, Spain.

Indulging in her passion for travel and embracing the art and culture of vibrant new places, Vikki participated in a month-long archaeological field dig in Croatia during the summer of 2013, and in 2016 participated in a cultural excursion to Cambodia, as a part of her Museum Studies program. Since graduating from the University of Wyoming, Vikki has worked in public libraries in Colorado and in the archives for the Wisconsin Historical Society at one of their cultural sites, the Robert L. Parkinson Library and Research Center at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

In earning an MBA in with the Bolz Center for Arts Administration, Vikki hopes to enhance her previous experiences in arts and cultural institutions with a wider range of skills, in a more business-focused capacity. Leveraging these skills, Vikki hopes to increase engagement in the arts and the exposure of available cultural resources to a broader scope of people, from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

In her off time, Vikki is an avid reader—unsurprising given her experience in libraries—an amateur artist, and loves to camp, kayak, and spend time with her very large family. She is also hoping to get involved in the Madison community by volunteering with Dane County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), an organization that supports children in the foster care system. Adopted at a young age herself by a wonderful family, Vikki is all-too aware of how differently her story could have unfolded, and is excited to get involved with such a worthwhile cause.
