Tom WeishanCorporate Finance and Investment Banking

Tom is a first-year MBA candidate at the University of Wisconsin, in the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. After graduating from Carleton College with a B.A. in Political Science and a Concentration in Political Economics he worked in personal financial planning, first with Harbor Capital Advisors and then Lincoln Financial Advisors, providing detailed investment planning for high net worth individuals and small business owners. Through these experiences he gained a passion for creative problem solving in portfolio management to meet the cash-flow needs and investment goals of his clients.

In 2014 he co-founded Catalyst Education, a college admissions consulting startup in Shanghai, China. There he focused on growing the business by navigating the shifting consumer landscape of China, and seizing opportunities in “second-tier” cities beyond Shanghai and Beijing.

Outside of the office, Tom has a love for comedy, and he performed in theaters around Chicago after graduating from the Conservatory at The Second City Theater. When he has time, he likes to play soccer or go sailing.
