Dan SzatkowskiOperations and Technology Management

Dan Szatkowski joins the Operations and Technology Management specialization after serving eight years in the U.S. Army as an Engineer Officer.  Originally from Oklahoma, Dan graduated in 2009 from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Management.  

Upon graduation, Dan was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment.  In 2011, he served in Iraq as the executive officer of a headquarters company in an engineer battalion where he was responsible for the supply and maintenance of all company vehicles and equipment valued at $40 million.  Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles in multiple Army echelons, both at home and abroad.  Most recently, Dan served as his unit’s liaison officer to U.S. Army Europe in Wiesbaden, Germany where he routinely acted as the U.S. Army representative to partnered nations and allies across Eastern Europe.  It was in this capacity of operating with NATO allies that he expanded his experience of working and leading in dynamic organizations.  Dan is excited to earn his MBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and apply his leadership and management experience while continuing his formal education for future application in the private sector. 

In his spare time, Dan can be found on the golf course, hitting the ski slopes, or watching his favorite sports teams.  Dan is also an avid long-distance runner.
