Kevin GronsethApplied Security Analysis

Kevin Gronseth is a 2020 MBA candidate in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Applied Security Analysis Program. He graduated from the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Management.

Upon graduation, Kevin began his career with IBM in Rochester, MN, first working as a Revenue Analyst for IBM Global Technology Services for one year, before being promoted to a Software Pricing Coordinator in the IBM Software Group. Kevin enjoyed both of his positions at IBM, but found that what interested him most each quarter was listening in on the company's quarterly earnings reports and Q&A sessions with Wall Street Analysts. Kevin especially enjoyed tracking the performance of the areas of the business that he worked in.

Looking to explore a new field, Kevin took a job with Mayo Clinic as a Financial Analyst supporting Mayo Clinic's Research Organization. Again, Kevin enjoyed his job at Mayo, but found he was more interested in reading Mayo's financial reports, especially the annual report published by Mayo's Investment Team. It was during Kevin's time at Mayo that he was introduced to the Applied Security Analysis Program at the Wisconsin School of Business and decided to apply.

During his senior year at St. Thomas, one of Kevin's professors introduced him to the CFA Program. Kevin passed the Level I Exam while at IBM and is currently a candidate for the Level II exam.

Kevin is a newlywed and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, traveling, basketball, card games, and following his favorite Minnesota sports teams, especially the Vikings.
