Eric WeigmanApplied Security Analysis

Eric is currently a second-year student in the full-time MBA program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working on the RegentFund. His area of specialization is the Applied Security Analysis Program. He hopes to combine his previous work experience and education to start his career as an analyst. He graduated from IUPUI’s Kelley School of Business in 2010 where he majored in finance and was also a four-year starter on the men’s soccer team.

Eric spent this past summer at Northwestern Mutual’s Public Investments Group as a credit analyst. He spent his time on the investment grade metals & mining sector with a focus on gold, copper, steel and diversified producers. His projects throughout the summer included creating commodity price sensitivity models, presenting a 12-18 month metals outlook, researching potential rising stars and writing up credit profiles for all companies covered.

Before enrolling in the Wisconsin MBA program, Eric worked as an investment analyst on a private wealth team at Robert W. Baird in Milwaukee, WI. His team was recognized as one of the top teams in the country and managed nearly $10 billion. At Baird, he concentrated on asset manager selection, due diligence, idea generation and portfolio construction. Eric completed all 3 levels of the CFA designation on the first attempt and obtained his charter in 2015.

In his free time, Eric enjoys playing soccer, running, reading and following his beloved Green Bay Packers.
