Jake JohnsonApplied Security Analysis

Jake Johnson is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Finance and Economics, and a first-year student in the Wisconsin School of Business Applied Security Analysis Program.  In the summers after his freshman and sophomore year, he held an internship at North Star Asset Management, where he conducted fundamental equity research on multiple equities. He put together research reports and pitched them to the Portfolio Managers to be added to their model portfolio. In addition to interning at North Star Asset Management, he interned at JPMorgan in Chicago with their Private Wealth Management division. While there, Jake worked with teams to understand client needs and monitored market developments and internal research to develop and execute strategies that help clients meet their financial goals. Jake also collaborated with client advisors, bankers, global investment specialists and estate experts to help recommend investment and wealth management solutions that protect, manage and grow clients' portfolios.

Outside of his internships, Jake is involved in multiple extracurricular initiatives: he was very involved with Finance and Investment Society, holding multiple Executive Board positions. In his spare time, Jake lifts weights, plays intramural sports and loves to read and explore Madison with his friends. He is excited to pursue his MS in Finance to strengthen his analytical and critical thinking skills
