Bryan JohnsonReal Estate and Urban Land Economics

Bryan Johnson is excited to join the Wisconsin School of Business and the Graaskamp Center for Real Estate Class 2019.  Bryan is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a B.B.A with concentrations in Real Estate and Risk Management and Insurance.  Bryan’s interest in real estate was piqued through his coursework at the University of Georgia and continued during his internship with a residential developer while in undergraduate.

After graduation, Bryan joined Armada Analytics, Inc. in Greenville, SC, as an asset management analyst assisting in commercial mortgage loan servicing.  A year later, he transitioned to the firm’s underwriting department, where he underwrote Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD commercial mortgages on a contract basis for multiple lenders. Bryan handled the underwriting of a variety of loan types including: assumptions, small balance loans, acquisition, and refinance transactions.  Platforms included market rate, affordable, and seniors housing.  Bryan was tasked with managing over 10 transactions at a time ranging from $1 million small balance loans to multi-property credit facilities in excess of $700 million.   Working on multifamily transactions daily allowed him to gain an understanding of financing multifamily projects and fostered an aspiration to work on the other side of the transaction.  Upon graduation for the Wisconsin School of Business, Bryan hopes to transition to the equity side of the industry and pursue a career in real estate investments.
