Jean WangBrand and Product Management

Jean Wang is passionate about building great products and making meaningful connections between products and users. Prior to her MBA studies at the Center for Brand and Product Management, Jean spent five years in global product management at Shure Incorporated, a worldwide industry leader in professional audio electronics. Through her work on the company’s flagship wireless microphone products, Jean orchestrated the concept-to-product process by championing the voice of customer in product definition, value proposition, feature requirements and go-to-market initiatives. She collaborated with stakeholders from engineering, design, operations, marketing, sales and business units on a daily basis to successfully conceptualize, develop, launch and maintain products.

Before relocating to Chicago to work for Shure, Jean spent four years in Raleigh, NC. She earned a Master of Science degree in Communication from the North Carolina State University, where she researched how to best communicate new technologies to the general public. Upon graduation, she worked for ClearImage, a Raleigh-based marketing agency, and helped several video game technology companies enter global markets via strategic marketing communication programs.

Prior to moving to the U.S., Jean graduated from the University of International Business and Economics with a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Trade, and worked as consumer insights researcher at McCann’s Beijing office in a one-year research project for Nestlé China.

Jean grew up in Chengdu, Sichuan. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking spicy food, wandering in art museums and keeping up with China’s indie rock scene.
