Andrew ChildsApplied Security Analysis

Andrew Childs is a second-year student in the Wisconsin School of Business Applied Security Analysis Program, and recently graduated with degrees in finance and risk management from the University of Wisconsin. Andrew passed the first level of the CFA exam in June.

This summer, Andrew interned as a sell-side Credit Research Analyst at Barclays in New York. He rotated through the investment grade financials and high yield health care teams, helping initiate coverage on two new names. Following his Junior year, Andrew interned at Antares Capital, a leading middle market leveraged lender, in Chicago. He worked on multiple live deals as a generalist, constructing three-statement and LBO financial models, and identifying risks and mitigants in lending deals.

During his undergraduate studies, Andrew took part in the Applied Equity Markets Research program, a full-year course taught by industry experts on how to create a quality stock pitch. He was also involved in multiple student organizations to expand his network and help mold younger leaders. He was the president of the Finance and Investment Society, a speaker-based organization, to improve his public speaking skills and professional communication. In his spare time, Andrew likes to play tennis, cheer on Wisconsin sports teams, and watch international soccer.  He is excited to expand his knowledge of security analysis and get experience managing a real world portfolio with $15mn in fixed income assets.

Andrew recently accepted an offer as a Credit Research Analyst at Barclays in New York.
