Andrew ChildsApplied Security Analysis

Andrew Childs is a senior studying finance and risk management at the University of Wisconsin, and a first-year student in the Wisconsin School of Business Applied Security Analysis Program.

Last summer, he interned at Dell in Austin, Texas where he worked on the company’s internal consulting team. Tasked with the responsibility of process mapping and conducting due diligence on EMC’s revenue recognition process, Andy learned about adaptability and problem solving required in consulting. This past summer, Andrew worked at Antares Capital, a leading middle market leveraged lender, in Chicago. There, he was able to further enjoy the research aspect of finance when working on live deals, constructing three-statement and LBO financial models, and identified risks and mitigates in lending deals.

During the school year, Andrew is involved in multiple student organizations to expand his network and help mold younger leaders. He was the president of the Finance and Investment Society, a speaker-based organization, improving his public speaking skills and professional communication. In his spare time, Andrew likes to play tennis, follow Wisconsin sports, and watch international soccer.  He is excited to expand his knowledge of security analysis and get experience managing a tangible portfolio.
