Jikun WangRisk Management and Insurance
Jikun Wang is thrilled to be part of the Wisconsin MBA specializing in Risk Management and Insurance. Eight years ago, he started his career as a sales manager in Ping An property and casualty insurance company in China, where he led teams to help clients transfer risk through commercial insurance contracts. Using his Bachelor’s degree in insurance from the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, he also instructed hundreds of agents from diverse backgrounds about successful sales techniques. Later, he took the role of assistant sales director and continued to guide subordinates, while building reliable relationships with other departments including underwriting, claims, and customer service to optimize the insurer’s overall operations. He understands that sales connects closely with other units.
Since the insurance industry requires leaders with broad and deep capabilities, Jikun is honing his professional, analytical, and strategic skills while enhancing his understanding of business and leadership. For example, Jikun’s internship allowed him to assist with managing UW-Madison’s insurance and risk program, where he collaborated with a variety of departments to evaluate and eliminate risk through monitoring exposures. He also established and implemented policies and procedures to reduce overall risk to the campus.
Jikun is from Inner Mongolia, China, and enjoys football, soccer, table tennis, and watching movies.
