Ramon OrtizApplied Security Analysis

Ramon Ortiz is a 2019 MS candidate in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Applied Security Analysis Program. He graduated with his bachelor’s in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 and is currently a member of Regent Fund.


In the most recent summer, Ramon worked at CreditSights as a high yield analyst covering the telecommunications industry. During his time there, he helped initiate coverage on Uniti (a distressed telecom REIT) as well as maintained models and earnings notes on other companies within the industry.

 

Prior to his experience at CreditSights, Ramon worked in leveraged finance at Antares Capital where he was responsible for conducting due diligence on private debt deals across an array of industries.

 

Alongside his summer work experience, Ramon has also gained valuable experience working for various companies throughout the school year. Most notably, he worked for the Parks Division of the City of Madison where he was responsible for developing a restructuring plan for the city’s golf enterprise program.

 

In his free time he likes to exercise, reading, and travel. During his sophomore year, Ramon embarked on a 6-month study abroad trip in Santiago, Chile.
