Anton AdamSupply Chain Management

Anton Adam is honored to have been selected to be a member of the Wisconsin School of Business and the Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management Class of 2019. A nine year veteran of the Navy Supply Corps, his assignments have taken him from the East Coast to Southeast Asia in support of missions ranging from Undersea Warfare to Naval Aviation.

Following his commissioning at Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, Anton was assigned to the Fast Attack Submarine USS NORTH CAROLINA as Supply Department Head. He supervised 13 enlisted supply personnel and was responsible for ensuring maintenance material and food service support for a crew of 130. During this tour Anton oversaw inventory management, procurement, and issuing for over $3 million annually in material support requirements in direct support of relocation of the entire unit from Groton Connecticut and the ship’s first deployment, including port calls in the Japan and the Philippines. On completion of this tour, Anton transferred to NAVSUP Weapon System Support, where he focused on aligning the interdepartmental logistics planning and procurement efforts of civilian personnel with the operational needs of the Submarine Fleet. Anton’s most recent assignment was as Stock Control Division Officer on the aircraft carrier USS CARL VINSON, where he supervised 19 hand-picked Logistics Specialists responsible for inventory and procurement systems, postal services, and financial management. During this tour Anton implemented new Fleet-directed financial accountability measures, establishing best practices that are being incorporated across the fleet.

Anton attended Northwestern University and graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Communication Studies with a focus on Political Communications. He intends to take advantage of his opportunity to study with his civilian counterparts to learn to better manage the interfaces between industry and government or non-profit organizations.
