Nick KlarApplied Security Analysis

Nick is a 2nd year Master of Science Candidate in the Applied Securities Analysis Program. Nick graduated from UW-Madison in the spring of 2018, with a BBA in Finance, and will complete his Master of Science in Finance in the spring of 2019.


In his most recent summer experience, Nick worked as a Public Markets Credit Research Intern at Northwestern Mutual Investment Management Company in Milwaukee. Here, he spent the summer covering high yield issuers in the technology and electric power sectors. Over the summer, he performed 2 company deep dives, wrote numerous earnings updates, and researched the outlook of the “yieldco” business model within renewable energy subsector. Previously, Nick spent a summer interning for Neuberger Berman on the global investment grade rates team, where he researched economic metrics in the G10 and the monetary policy of the ECB.


Outside of the classroom and the office, Nick enjoys staying active by playing recreational basketball, going on hikes, and running. He has a strong passion for the arts, and loves going to concerts, musical theater productions and arts galleries when he can. Overall, he is thrilled to complete his journey in the ASAP program and begin a fruitful career in investing.
