Patrick MullikinRisk Management and Insurance

Growing up with both parents on active duty in the Air Force, Patrick Mullikin learned early on how to acclimate to a variety of cultures and social situations. These skills helped him make the transition from early focuses in Engineering Mechanics and Astronautics into a field of study that requires in-depth consideration of the user experience, Game Development.

Patrick’s background in game development has proven to be an incredible asset, giving him the tools needed to drive usability in a variety of systems, including mobile device apps. The first to benefit from his unique combination of skills was UW Credit Union where Patrick identified and solved complex systems problems before they had a chance to emerge as customer-facing issues. At the same time Patrick helped launch a game studio startup, where he functioned as lead animator and development consultant. His work in the startup space ultimately led to a promotion at the credit union, where he leveraged new skills to streamline the quality assurance process and improve the user experience.

Through a recent internship in the Digital Transformation Office of American Family Insurance, Patrick has been able to infuse his passion and experience with technology and innovation with the insurance industry. Patrick is excited to continue his education with the Wisconsin School of Business, where he is focusing on an MBA in Risk Management and Insurance.
