Charlotte DuReal Estate and Urban Land Economics

Charlotte Du joins the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate with extensive knowledge in hotel operations, sales, marketing, and revenue optimization. Her primary Real Estate interest is hotel acquisition and development.


Prior to joining the Wisconsin Real Estate MBA program, Charlotte served as Corporate Revenue & Sales Analyst for Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS) headquartered in Milwaukee, WI. She worked closely with the VP of revenue strategies and directors of sales on analyzing sales performance, assessing revenue strategies, and conducting market researches. She built several Microsoft Excel sales analytics model as well as redesign the company's sales goal setting model to more accurately measure performance, bonuses and forecasts.  She also worked with the development team on analyzing growth potentials for hotel deals from the sales and revenue side, and was involved with establishing new property's sales and marketing plan.  Through working on hotel deals Charlotte has found a huge interest in the area of hotel development. She believes her experiences in hotels will serve as great resources for her future career in the real estate industry.


Charlotte received bachelor's degrees from both Sun Yat-Sen University in China and Oklahoma State University with a major in Hotel & Restaurant Administration and a minor in Finance. She was honored as one of the Top 10 Seniors for the OSU Class of 2016, being the first and the only international student to receive this award.


Following completion of the Wisconsin MBA program Charlotte plans to pursue a career in commercial real estate development, and is particularly interested in hotel development, asset management and real estate consulting.
