François Ortalo-Magné is the Albert O. Nicholas Dean of the Wisconsin School of Business, a position he has held since 2011. Building on the school’s tradition of innovation through collaboration and expertise in experiential learning, Ortalo-Magné is positioning the school to transform business education. Together with school and campus colleagues, he is advancing a bold strategy that redefines the partnership between universities and the business community in order to address business challenges, inspire leadership, and improve lives. Prior to his current role, Ortalo-Magné was department chair for the Real Estate and Urban Economics Department at the Wisconsin School of Business. He joined the school in 2001, after having been a tenured faculty member at the London School of Economics. Ortalo-Magné received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
