Peter Leidel is a founder and partner at Yorktown Partners, LLC, a principal investment firm managing private equity partnerships that invest in the energy industry, focusing on companies based in North America.

Previously, Leidel was a partner at the Venture Capital Group of Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. and has invested in a variety of private companies with a particular focus on the energy sector since 1983. From 1983 to September 1997, he was employed at Dillon, Read & Co., Inc., serving most recently as a senior vice president. Leidel has served in the corporate treasury positions at Mobil Corporation and also worked for KPMG Peat Marwick and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has been a director at Willbros Group Inc. since 1992 and serves as the chairman of its Audit Committee and is a member of its Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees.

Leidel is a director of certain non-public companies in the energy industry in which the Yorktown partnerships hold equity interests, including Ellora Energy Inc. since June 2002. He served as a director at Carbon Energy Corp. since September 1999 and Cornell Companies, Inc. until June 2003. Leidel received a BBA with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Pound Ridge, New York.
