Tom graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning a BBA in Accounting, Risk Management & Insurance. Additionally, Tom subsequently earned a CPA from both Wisconsin and California.

Prior to coming to GE, Tom dedicated 13 years to developing his knowledge and skills in public accounting with Arthur Andersen LLP, and Deloitte & Touche LLP in California and Wisconsin. Tom’s extensive experience includes working in a multitude of complex accounting and operational domains, from SEC reporting, to mergers and acquisitions, and working with multi-national public and private companies ranging from utilities to healthcare to manufacturing.

In March 2003, Tom joined GE Healthcare as the Global Controller. Tom’s role and scope of responsibility has evolved over time. It is fair to assume Tom has had at least 3 different jobs within the same “job” over this 10+ year period. The role initially began as pure technical accounting support and has evolved to one with considerable focus on process improvement, compliance, and overall risk management. In August 2010, Tom was named as the overall Enterprise Risk Manager at GE Healthcare further expanding his breadth and scope of influence within the existing role.

When he’s not at work, Tom enjoys sports, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his wife and two daughters (Caroline and Emma).
