Bill Trukenbrod earned his BBA  in Finance from the Wisconsin School of Business  in 1961.   He has a long family history of service to the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  His grandfather, George Clarke Sellery, served as the Dean of the College of Letters and Sciences from 1918 to 1942. As a student, Bill participated in the “Reverse Viking” program, which provided a scholarship to UW-Madison  students to study in Norway; Bill attended the University of Oslo.

After graduating, he moved to Chicago where he earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.  He joined the Northern Trust Company in 1962 as a credit analyst in the banking department.  He spent his entire career in banking and retired from Northern Trust as executive vice president and chief credit officer in 2000.

In addition to his banking career, Bill made time to serve his local community, Bannockburn, Illinois.  He chaired the village planning commission for 12 years and later served as president of the village board for six years.  He has also been an active supporter of the Wisconsin School of Business, serving on the Wisconsin Business Alumni board of directors from 1988-1992 and then as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board from 1998-2002.  He was instrumental in the building of the Fluno Center for Executive Education.

Bill and his wife Joan have two grown children, William (Britt) and Susan, and seven grandchildren.
