Ms. Deborah Keller is principal at Black Frame Advisors, LLC and has retired as Chief Executive Officer of Covance Drug Development. In this role, Ms. Keller served on the LabCorp Leadership Committee and reported to the LabCorp Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to being named as the next Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Keller was the Executive Vice President, Covance and Group President, R&D Laboratories, which includes Central Laboratory Services, Nonclinical Safety Assessment, Analytical Services and Discovery and Translational Services. In this role, Deb had responsibility for the entire spectrum of drug development from discovery to clinical development — an organization of more than 6,000 employees at 18 sites across North America, Europe and Asia.

Ms. Keller began her career with Covance 27 years ago in 1987 in Madison, Wisconsin. After several positions of increasing responsibility in Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Scientific Operations, she moved to the United Kingdom in 1999 to lead the company’s European chemistry business. She returned to the United States in 2001 as head of global operations for Central Laboratories, and five years later was promoted to Senior Corporate Vice President of Covance and President of Central Laboratories Services, the world’s largest provider of laboratory services for clinical trials. Ms. Keller was promoted to Executive Vice President, Covance and Group President, R&D Laboratories, in 2010.

Ms. Keller holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and Bachelor of Business Administration in management and accounting from Nazareth College and a Master’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a board member for BioCrossroads, an organization that promotes Indiana’s life science industry, and serves on the advisory board of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business Life Science Program. A member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Society and the Society of Toxicology, Ms. Keller was named one of FierceBiotech’s 10 Top Women in Biotech 2012.
