As Los Angeles Capital's chairman and president, Tom Stevens is responsible for setting the firm's strategic goals and developing the firm's research, portfolio management, trading, administrative, and client service resources. He is a senior member of the portfolio management team and a member of the firm's investment committee. Stevens also plays a lead role in developing and maintaining client relationships. Prior to co-founding Los Angeles Capital, he was a senior managing director and principal at Wilshire Associates. He joined Wilshire in 1980 and for six years directed its equity division, overseeing the delivery of the Equity and Index Fund Management Service and working on a retainer basis with over 120 investment organizations. In 1986, he assumed responsibility for Wilshire Asset Management and for the next 16 years headed that division.

Prior to joining Wilshire, Stevens worked for the National Bank of Detroit as a portfolio manager and was primarily responsible for major pension fund client relationships. He has served on the board of directors for Special Olympics of Southern California and for Agripower Inc.; was chairman of the board for the Los Angeles Capital Global Funds plc, a CITS fund company based in Dublin, Ireland; and was on the board of directors for Proxy Parent Foundation, a charity providing assistance to people with mental illness. In his free time, he enjoys golf, biking, skiing, and yoga and is a member of Sherwood Country Club.
