Founded in 1969, the Bolz Center for Arts Administration was the nation’s first multi-disciplinary graduate business degree in arts and cultural management. Today, the Bolz Center remains a recognized thought leader for the effective and innovative management of arts-related businesses, and a proving ground for generations of high-performing cultural leaders.
We count among our alumni hundreds of exceptional leaders, making a real difference through large cultural icons such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Guthrie Theatre, and the Whitney Museum of American Art; through creative hotbeds such as Mark Morris Dance Group and Nonesuch Records; and through community jewels like the Grand Theatre in Wausau, Wisconsin, and the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach, California. Alumni also apply their strategic business training to support the essential infrastructure of arts in communities, from the Wisconsin Arts Board, to Chicago’s Prince Charitable Trusts, to the Nonprofit Finance Fund, to the National Endowment for the Arts.
