Since 1969, the Arts Administration graduate degree at Wisconsin has the program of choice for high-potential arts and cultural managers seeking intensive training in business, an immersion in strategic and innovative thinking, and a broad and dynamic knowledge of nonprofit cultural management. Through the Bolz Center for Arts Administration, we have delivered on that promise through a three-tiered focus on business curriculum, close interaction with leading practitioners, and hands-on work experiences for every student.

We count among our alumni hundreds of exceptional leaders, making a real difference through large cultural icons such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Guthrie Theatre, and the Whitney Museum of American Art; through creative hotbeds such as Mark Morris Dance Group, Dallas Theater Center, and Nonesuch Records; and through community jewels like the Grand Theatre in Wausau, Wisconsin, and the Orange County Museum of Art. Alumni also apply their strategic business training to support the essential infrastructure of arts in communities, from the Wisconsin Arts Board, to Chicago’s Prince Charitable Trusts, to the Nonprofit Finance Fund, to the National Endowment for the Arts.
