There are public meters in most parking lots on campus, including Grainger Hall (Lot 7). The limit on these meters ranges from 25-minutes to three hours. To get 5-minutes FREE, turn the handle (or push the button) when the meter shows zero time and insert additional coins, if needed. On the UW-Madison campus, you may not “re-plug” a meter. You are limited when parking at a meter to the length of the time limit of the meter.
See the Rates Policy for cost of meters. See the Lot Stall information page for longer term meter locations. Vehicles may not park at an inoperable meter. Customers should move to the next metered stall and report the inoperable meter to UW Transportation Services at (608) 263-6666, press option #7.
