Over spring break, the A.C. Nielsen Center students visited several American and Chinese companies in Guangzhou to gain a better understanding of how consumer insights are gathered in China. Individuals from Guangzhou Blue Moon, a market leader in the Chinese laundry industry, welcomed the Wisconsin MBA students to their headquarters and shared information about the company’s impressive growth over its 10-year history. The visit presented a learning experience for the Wisconsin MBA students and for the Blue Moon marketing team as well. After sharing a company overview and examples of marketing research, the company representatives were excited to hear the A.C. Nielsen Center students’ perspectives on the future of marketing research and gather advice on company research tactics. Overall, it was a great learning experience for both parties.
