Nielsen Center Students Take the Plunge by Amanda Decker, MBA 2012

Each winter the UW MBA program supports the Wisconsin Special Olympics by participating in the Madison Polar Plunge.  In February, eight A.C. Nielsen Center students (John Burton, Amanda Decker, Boryana Georgieva, Katie Hankes, Tyler Kettle, Cherie Leonard, Nathan Schaff, Marjorie Scott) took the plunge and rose over $2,200 dollars for the Madison Special Olympics.  Many other Nielsen students supported their classmates by donating and attending the day of.

Overall, the UW MBA program had a record breaking year, raising $19,012.  A total of 69 participants took the plunge into Lake Monona, including Associate Dean of the MBA Program Kenneth Kavajecz, Marketing Professor Jan Heide, Director of Admissions Erin Nickelsburg and other faculty and staff members.
