Marketing Research Blog
The completion of the 2010 Alumni & Friends Marketing Research Summit marks the beginning of the interviewing season for the Marketing Research specialization. Through the A.C. Nielsen Center’s broad connections, we are able to network and explore internship opportunities with industry leaders including General Mills, P&G, Kraft, and Johnson & Johnson.
The Center provides a variety of ways to not only help prepare for the interviews but also to learn more about the companies and gauge fit for the respective roles. I especially found the second year students’ Lunch ‘n Learn presentations on their summer internships helpful. I also was able to take advantage of mock interview opportunities with alumni and other marketing research professionals. A great way to network, learn from the industry professionals, and practice!
On top of all this, October is also mid-term exams time. There are midterm exams for three of the four core business classes in the fall semester – Accounting, Data to Decisions, and Finance. We also completed a ‘concept check’ for the Introduction to Marketing Research course last week. Such a busy schedule has made me work harder to be more organized and also learn to prioritize activities.
Overall, the MBA experience so far has been quite challenging, but rewarding. I think my fellow classmates will agree.
