Investing in wireless providers through a buy and sell short strategy is a sound investment trend as smart-phones continue to gain popularity in the U.S., according to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article authored by a former Applied Security Analysis MBA student.
Chris Carter, currently an equity analyst at Nakoma Capital Management LLC , suggests establishing a hedged pairing between Verizon Wireless and AT&T to safely bet on the trend. According to Carter, the smart-phone adoption rate in the U.S. is fairly low so the trend will likely continue over the next couple of years.
