The Wall Street Journal recently published an article titled “Internal Auditors Face Pressure Over Results, Survey Says” featuring insights from Larry Rittenberg, professor emeritus at the Wisconsin School of Business.
The story focused on the amount of political pressure that is placed on auditors to alter or neglect certain results in their investigations. Rittenberg, one of the authors of the survey referenced in the article, said that some auditors experience pressure on a daily basis.
Of the internal auditors surveyed, 55 percent revealed they were pressured to change their audit findings.
