Dean's Advisory Board Chairman Emeritus Awarded Prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by Staff

Patrick Thiele (BBA ‘72, MS ‘75), chairman emeritus of the Dean's Advisory Board at the Wisconsin School of Business, will be recognized as the 2012 recipient of the Bermuda Insurance Institute Lifetime Achievement Award on May 19.

Mr. Thiele is being acknowledged for his accomplished career in the risk management and insurance industry, which spanned more than 25 years. He retired in 2010 after leading PartnerRe as its president and CEO for 10 years. During Mr. Thiele's tenure at PartnerRe, the company tripled in size and climbed the ranks to become one of the top five reinsurers worldwide. His expertise and reputation go far beyond PartnerRe; he is sought out for his opinions about risk management and insurance and is active in several global industry associations.

In 2009, Mr. Thiele received the Distinguished Business Alumni Award from the Wisconsin School of Business.
